Producer and DJ, Sharpson returns with a high-tempo club banger ‘Yves Saint Laurent’. His signature style of utilising Dublin accented vocals over rave tracks returns in force in this collaboration with Hip-Hop duo Wax White and the newest Dublin based Drum & Bass outfit; Three Stripe Selecta. This 4 to the floor, Drum & Bass tempo track combines elements of Techno, Jungle and Donk, which sounds messy, but both Sharpson and Three Stripe Selecta have masterfully merged the genres together. The vocals, which were recorded in one take by Damien Guilfoyle of Wax White, compliment the bouncy banger and gives the track the local flavour which is now synonymous with Sharpson’s works.

The London based producer grew up in North side Dublin, having produced for local hip-hop acts from Ballymun and Finglas as a youth. With collaborations with the likes of 5th Element, Mango, Tebi Rex, Ollie Bell and Bitter Roc just to name a few, Sharpson is no stranger to the Irish Hip-Hop scene and is now on a mission to give club music a local accent.

Last October, the ‘backwards DJ’ blew us away with his Breakbeat and Jungle EP: Dublin Mannerisms, which landed on shelves courtesy of his own imprint ‘Choki Biki Records’. ‘Yves Saint Laurent’ also comes out on the Dublin based independent label on Friday, the 30th of December. You can catch him and Wax White celebrating the release in Dashi Dublin, courtesy of Choki Biki and Outstragiht Records on the day of release.
